Common questions
Carpet installation and replacement guide questions
Use the answers to prepare for an assessment and written estimate.
01Does new carpet always need new cushion?+
Not every project is identical, but the existing cushion must be evaluated for condition, compatibility, thickness, performance, hygiene, and warranty requirements. Price reuse and replacement as separate written options when appropriate.
02Can carpet seams be completely invisible?+
Seam visibility can be affected by carpet style, backing, lighting, traffic, layout, installation, and room dimensions. Ask where seams are expected and how the layout follows the product requirements.
03What should carpet removal include?+
Confirm removal and disposal of carpet, cushion, staples or adhesive as specified, tack-strip decisions, substrate cleaning, discovered-condition approval, protection, and final debris removal.
04Who moves furniture for carpet replacement?+
Responsibility varies. List every item the installer will move, exclusions such as electronics or specialty furniture, room sequence, additional charges, and who reconnects or replaces items.
05What should a carpet installation estimate include?+
It should identify carpet and cushion, measurements, quantity, waste, layout, seams, installation method, removal, substrate work, stairs, transitions, furniture, doors, cleanup, schedule, warranties, payments, and changes.
